I have a canon rebel 2000 35mm, what D-SLR will accept the lenses i already have?
I have had my 35 mm for a few years and love it just recently tried out the new D-SLR Canon Rebel XTi EOS and loved it. but i was wondering, will the lenses i already have work with this camera? if not, what D-SLR canon will fit them? the lenses are Canon 28-80 mm (came with 35mm) and also Canon zoom lens EF 75-300mm. Thanks.
Yes, the XTi will accept the lenses you use for autofocusing with your Rebel 2000.
The only difference: there’s a 1.6 multiplier. So the 28-80mm lens will not be as wide on the digital camera. It will look as though you mounted a 44.8mm-128mm lens on your film camera.
Likewise, the 75-300mm on a digital camera will look as though you mounted a 120mm-480mm lens on your Rebel.
So, if you need some wideness, you may have to pick up a lens like the 18-55mm lens to get wideness back.
The reason for the multiplier: the sensor on the XTi is smaller than a frame of 35mm film, so it’s like cropping the image to make a blowup.
